Hiking with "the club". It's the Edinburgh Ski Touring Club... not that there's a lot of snow in Scotland. That's Linda on the left.

Jan. 2005 Skiing around Braemar, northern Scotland
Jan. 2005 Icebar in Stockholm. Even the glasses are made of ice. They issue you with special insulating jackets.
March 2005 Skiing Scottish style. Ice, rocks, high winds... if you can ski in Scotland you can ski anywhere..

March. 2005 Andrew and Linda's Dumfries ancient monument tour... continued. Caerlaverock castle. It's the only triangular castle with moat in Europe. Very special.

April. 2005 We stayed in this "castle" in the Borders. It's actually a 18th century fishing pavilion from the days when country estates dominated the British landscape, physically and economically.
May. 2005 A walk up Trapain Law near Haddington. This used to be an old iron age fort. There's a popular rock climbing area on the back face.

Jun. 2005 Glen Coe Buchaillie Etive Moor. North Buttress.Great climb apart from the rain and high winds on the (very exposed) crux pitch.

Oct. 2005 Yet another picture perfect Corsican village
Oct. 2005 Hike in Corsica. More ancient bridges than you can poke a stick at. Most built by the Genoese when Corsica was run from Genoa.
Oct. 2005 Tear gas canisters in Bastia, Corsica. The French, bless, do like a good strike and running battle with the police. It was difficult to relax with a latte when the tear gas canisters kept landing near the cafes.
